Water witching or water dowsing is a practice that involves the use of a rod to locate underground water. It is a practice that is connected to the use of alchemy and it dates back to the 15th century. Although there is no scientific data to back the effectiveness of water witching, it is a practice that has been used by a group for people for years and it falls under folklore. Dowsing was considered a link between the natural and supernatural because it provided a connection to the supernatural to humans using a divine rod.
